In a surprising move, the Governor of West Virginia has ordered a one hour stay of execution for an inmate at the West Virginia State Penitentiary. Inmate Lefty Lafferty was scheduled to be put to death today, but in a bizarre turn of events the Governor halted the electric chair execution due to new information that was received just hours ago. Details are not available, but a source close to the administration has said that a special investigative team is being dispatched to the Penitentiary. The Governor received an anonymous tip, rumored to have been sent via fax that listed details about the crime Lefty is being charged with – our source indicated that there are details included that no one could have known. After brief consideration the execution has been halted for one hour.
Rules, Clues and Facts
Basically there are two parts to an escape room. When you are in the room, you have to look around carefully and try to find clues by moving objects, locating keys and utilizing combinations for locks. Then, you will need to match these things using logic in order to figure out how to solve the puzzles. A puzzle may connect to another puzzle….or maybe not! Some clues are meant for later stages of the game. If you are not sure how to use a clue, move on and come back to it when you have more information.
Each key fits one lock only. Some keys may not fit any lock. You cannot use a key more than once. You cannot use a code more than once.
This is an intellectual game, you will not need to use brute force, climb on objects or destroy props.
Objects that are marked with “NOT A CLUE” are out of bounds and do not contain any clues. They should not be moved. Don’t waste your time on them, your hour will go fast. (The ceiling is NOT a clue, nor does it hold clues.)
For your own safety, and the safety of others in the room, please do not bring any dangerous items into the room. You are not literally locked in, it is just a term for the game. We would also like to mention, based on our experience, guests who are claustrophobic have had NO problems at all and just have fun during the game.
Please do not bring anything flammable, explosive, or any sharp objects in the room, and certainly no firearms.
If you need to leave the room for any reason, you cannot re-enter the game.
There are cameras in the room that we are monitoring at all times for safety. There is a countdown clock showing you how much time you have left. After the first 15 minutes you will be able to receive a clue, after 30 minutes you will be able to receive a second clue, then you will receive clues after 40 and 45 minutes. After that clues will be on demand by your team, but they may cost you! Remember the object is to get out with very little help, but if you can’t solve anything, you can’t get out – so use your free clues!
BEWARE: Electronic locks will “freeze” for several minutes if you attempt multiple codes quickly in a short amount of time.
